House Painting Your Ceilings In Stylish Hues

Give the ceilings in your home a new look with house painting techniques with stylish hues. White has been always the standard color used for ceilings because the white color reflects light more than any other color. It can also easily match with almost all colors that are used for the painting of the walls. But this does not have to be the case every time; you can now use stylish hues to have your ceiling attain a new appearance.

The painting of ceilings with new hues other than plain white in house painting promotes a cooler look, especially if they are the ceilings in the bedrooms. White sometimes can be glaring to the eyes as it reflects more light than any other color. To have a cooler bedroom ceiling, there are now different hues of whites that you can use, like the subtle whites to cooler whites, blue-based whites and warm whites.

Green can also be a good ceiling color to avoid the glare especially when you wake up late and the sun has entered the windows of your room. The green ceiling will be as if you are looking at the leaves of plants when you open your eyes in the morning. Waking up this way helps you to have a cool disposition for the whole day. Some people, when they feel bad during the day, sometimes say that they woke up on the wrong side of the bed that morning - perhaps another way of saying that they were annoyed by the glare of their white ceiling when they got up from bed.

There is what is called the 8" rule for home painting and this refers to the color of the ceiling with regards to its relation with the walls around. Basically this ceiling-to-wall relationship says that if the room ceiling is 8" under, then the ceiling must be painted with a color that is a shade lighter than the shade of the color applied on the walls.

On the other hand, if the room ceiling is higher than 8", then it must be painted with a color of a darker shade compared to the shade of the color applied to the walls.

Following the 8" rule could give you an illusion of a low ceiling full of warmth and coziness, something that anyone would want to have in his or her bedroom. A bedroom with just the plain white color may give the impression that the ceiling has been painted only with the first coat of paint, because white is normally used for the start of a house painting job. Introducing the use of other color hues will solve that problem.

House painting of the ceiling by using the 8" carefully rule is easy to do on your own. It makes your work look like it was done by a professional home interior designer, as the effects achieved will be outstanding, no less.
