On the other hand, if the room ceiling is higher than 8", then it must be painted with a color of a darker shade compared to the shade of the color applied to the walls.
Following the 8" rule could give you an illusion of a low ceiling full of warmth and coziness, something that anyone would want to have in his or her bedroom. A bedroom with just the plain white color may give the impression that the ceiling has been painted only with the first coat of paint, because white is normally used for the start of a house painting job.
